Our heartfelt condolences go out to Rick’s family. He was an amazing man who did some really amazing things in our community. Our boys have great memories of “Coach Rick”, who provided them both with a positive, encouraging introduction to baseball. They especially enjoyed running races and the cold treats at the end of baseball practices, as well as the fun family bbq celebration that was held at the end of the season. Our community is a better place because of Rick and all of the wonderful things he has done. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Rick was a very loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He cherished his family.
He was a dedicated and well-respected community leader devoting countless unselfish hours.
He was an amazing handyman to absolutely anyone that needed assistance with a project.
Rick was a true and loyal dear friend to us and to anyone lucky enough to have known him.
We will always have the fondest memories of our wonderful times with Rick and Sarah Jane, including our adventurous travels around the world.

Nancy and I offer our condolences to Sarah Jane and family on the loss of Rick.
Rick was passionate about the Town of Forest, having served on Forest and Lambton Shores Council for many years. I remember working with Rick during his years on Forest Council and always found him to be open and constructive to projects affecting the Town. As Clerk Administrator, I was always careful to run ideas by Rick ahead of time to get a reading on their viability. I found Rick to always be open to ideas but he always probed deeply into the nitty gritty details to ensure they were viable. Later on when I was CAO of Lambton Shores I would often seek out Rick as a private citizen at that time, to get his thoughts on projects that were being considered by Lambton Shores. He was always generous with his time and helpful.
Approaching Rick was always made easier because of his openness and sense of humour and always “telling like it is”. You always knew where you stood with Rick. He will be greatly missed.
