Obituary of David Keith Overton

With family at his side, peacefully passed away at Bluewater Health Services on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the age of 84 years.  Beloved husband of Mary (nee Lester).  Dear father of Matthew (Sharon), Nathan (Jackie), and Lori (Vincent).  Loved Grandad-Papa of Arianna, Alexander, Andrew, Kyle, Kora, Aaron, and Kohan.  David will be missed by his brother Roy (Margaret), his niece Susan (Glenn), his nephew Keir, as well as his many nieces and nephews in the Lester family.  Predeceased by his parents Roy and Violet Overton.  In addition to a long career in Hospitality, David had a lifelong passion for music, and sang for 29 years as part of the Guelph and Sarnia Men’s Barbershop groups.  He was also a member of the St. James choir, and the Sarnia & District Community Choir.  He enjoyed replacing divots and finding lost balls.  David was a proud member of the Forest Legion Br. #176, having served in Korea with the Royal Highland Regiment (U.K.)

Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF FOREST, 9 James Street South, Forest, on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 6:00 pm – 9:00pm.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated at St. James’ Presbyterian Church on Saturday morning, June 10, 2017, at 11:00 am with Rev. Joanne MacOdrum officiating.  Interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery.  For those who wish, in memoriam donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.denning.ca
