I had a nice sit-down with my Aunt Marg 2 weekends ago at the Kettle Point Santa Claus Parade and Craft Show. Uncle Alan needed a drink of Pepsi, but had no change. I offered to pay, and Uncle Alan accepted. I asked Aunt Marg if she would like a drink also. She asked Uncle Alan to bring her a ginger ale (her favourite). We discussed some family topics, including some nice stories about my dad. We talked about the work she and other family members were involved in regarding the Stoney Point Settlement. We laughed about the trouble they seemed to get themselves into with security at the National Archives Centre in Ottawa while researching the titles for location tickets. We talked about the changes we have seen in our community, both positive and negative. The negative, we tried to come up with positive solutions. Our discussions were of good quality and meaningful. The message? You never know when your last words will come with a loved one. Let them be of good quality and meaningful. Make things better.

To Allen Pepper and family
