A Message of Gratitude
The Family of the late André Aerts would like to express heartfelt thanks to all those who cared for André during his illness and death, those who attended visitation, offered their presence at his celebration of life (in person or virtually), sent flowers, made a donation in his honour, or sent expressions of condolences either by card, phone call, or a dish of food, or by placing a message on Dad's Tribute Wall.
Thank you also to Reverend Brad Morrison for creating a beautiful celebration of life and to all who helped to make the service so moving; Brad and Sandra for singing In the Garden, Jessica and Alan for singing Amazing Grace, and to family members for sharing touching words of remembrance.
Thank you to Strathroy United Church for offering such a fitting venue and to the United Church team for the beautiful organ music, and offering refreshments following the internment. Our gratitude is also extended to Kathy Nixey at Floral Temptations, Ilderton, for the beautiful arrangements and to Denning’s Funeral Home for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
In the words of André, “Better friends are hard to come by.”

Thank you, Eileen, for your message of condolences. Your kind words are very appreciated. Although he will be missed, Dad had a 'good death;" a death where one is comfortable, peaceful, and surrounded by family. Dear Shirley: The days ahead will be filled with change and sorrow. Please know that we are thinking of you everyday! You were the best caregiver dad ever had! Special thanks to the Sherry, Alan, Rob, Jim and their families as well as Trish, Cynthea, John, Jennifer, Candace, and all of you who made Shirley's surprise birthday party such a special day on Wednesday, December 6th. Dear family,
As granddaughter of Staf Aerts I've heard Staf talk a lot about his dear brother, the adventurous one who dared to start all over again in Canada far away from Staf's Flemish soil. He was very proud of his brother and seemed very close although there was a long distance between them. If Andreas (or 'Nonkel André' as he is called over here) was even a bit like his brother Staf (and he must have been given their bond), it must have been a very kind and loving soul, very proud of his family and kin.
Sincere condolances with your loss and remember that someone can be immortal in the minds of the people who loved Andreas and in all the memories of all the small and big moments you've had together with him.

Trisha, Jackie, Cynthia and John, our most sincere condolences on your Dad's passing. We have so many fond memories of our families together, trips to Coldstream on a Sunday afternoon, to playing on the farm and enjoying a great meal together. Our parents often enjoyed playing cards and maybe having a drink or two. I am sure they are all getting reunited now and catching up.
