Obituary of Douglas Kelly Manning

Doug Manning, age 65, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his residence in Kettle & Stoney Point on Sunday, November 26, 2023.  Doug was the beloved son of Murray and Rosalie Manning and was the husband of the late Willi VanDinther.  Doug was the loving father of the late Chad Manning and to his extended children Teresa, Greg, Phillip, Frank, Micheal, and James.  Doug was a proud grandfather of Kelsi, Dasan [DJ], Olivia and Reminton and great grandfather (Papa) of Bentley, River and Phynn.  Doug referred to himself as Phynn’s papa momma. Doug loved and cherished all children. They brought so much joy to his life. Doug was a supportive and loving brother to Bruce (Linda), late Albert (late Ericka), late Marena (late Cleve), late Tom, Harvey (Victoria), Joanne (Dexter), Murray (Dianne), Jane, Stevan, Dolleen (Mary). Doug loved his whole family and was a role model to his many nephews and nieces.

Doug was proud to be a member of the Ironworkers Local 700 for almost 50 years. Doug believed in having strong work ethics and enjoyed teaching and being a mentor for others in his chosen field of work. Doug was a leader and strongly believed in always being there for family and friends.

 

Family and friends will be received for the Funeral Service at the Community Centre in Kettle & Stoney Point on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 1:00pm. Doug will make his final trip around the community before the graveside ceremony at the Kettle & Stoney Point Cemetery, followed by the meal at the Community Centre.
