Obituary of Valrae Martin

MARTIN, Mrs. Valrae

Valrae Martin passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, she decided it was best this way while the Toronto Blue Jays were on a winning streak.  Valrae loved her Jays from the beginning and her kids had to schedule their drop-in visits around the team’s games so they didn’t interrupt her listening to Buck Martinez or on Jerry Howarth on the radio.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play baseball and was always in the front row.  Valrae was very proud growing up in Watford and could put anyone in their place with a stern stare if they disagreed with her.  After Bob retired, they built a new house and their garage became the new meeting place in town.  If the garage door was open, stop on by.  Now that they are back together, we are sure that Bob has stirred the pot and Valrae will be shaking her head saying “Oh Bob.”

Valrae is predeceased by her husband Bob.  Survived by her children Paul & Cindy Martin, Tammy & Steve George, and Jodie & Andrew Palmer, her grandchildren Kaytie and Bob Clarke, Michelle & Lorne Hart, April Martin & Carlene Thibert, Cody & Alaina George, Chance, Catheryn, and Clare George, Miraide and Tayte Palmer, her great-grandson Carson.  Predeceased by her great-grandson Wesley.  Valrae is also predeceased by her siblings Clare Williamson, Alan Williamson, Larry Williamson, and Marilyn.   Survived by her sisters-in-law Barbara Mater and Margaret Williamson, her brother in law Albert Andrew (Barb).   Survived by her sisters-in-law Pat Martin (late Bruce), Rose Martin (late Jim), and Carol Martin (late Terry), and predeceased by her sister in law Bernice Rotteau.
