Cody played hockey a few years ago with a bunch of retired old-timers. It was almost impossible to score a goal against him, but once I closed my eyes and took a shot - THAT WENT IN! Cody & I laughed ... and laughed ... and laughed.
I heard today - on my way to a hockey game with some of the same old-timers, coincidentally - that Cody had lost his battle. We made an announcement before the game started, to remember him.
On behalf of the hockey group that played Thursday mornings with Cody, please accept our deepest sympathies and condolences. Paul Cox

My condolences to Ashley, Michelle, Shay, Ed and the rest of Cody's Family and Friends. I had the pleasure to have the light that was Cody walk in my life via his friendship with my son Dustin. With their friendship my son received a great second mom and I gained another son. Watching Cody grow from the boy that walked into my life to the man that he was, was a great joy. Ashley, He was always happy but he was the happiest when he was with you. Always keep that in mind on the hard days. He was the light in everybody else's life but you were the light in his.
You all will be in my thoughts and prayers as you start your healing process. I know it's going to to be a hard process and it is going to take a while.

Ashley, I am so sorry to hear of your husband Cody's passing. The last time I saw and spoke to you was at White Oaks Mall. You were so excited getting ready for your wedding. I could not only see the joy and happiness this young man brought you, but I could hear it in your voice. May God and Mary and the memories you have with Cody offer you peace and comfort today and always. ♥️

Cody you brought Ashley so much happiness. I am very proud to call you my grandson-in-law. I would do anything to be able to take away Ashley's pain, but only time will do that. You fought so hard to beat this horrible disease. I am glad you are at peace now. You will be in our memories forever. LuvU4Ever, Gramma Ruth

Our deepest condolences to you all at this time. I can’t imagine what you are going through, but since I have witnessed signs of life after death from my clients that I cared for when I worked in palliative care and from my parents, I know Cody is in heaven. Waiting for Ashley and the rest of you to join him when it’s your time. God takes us when we have completed our job here and by the way Cody has touched so many people , he has completed his role here and is building a place for you all in his kingdom. It hurts me to see young people go before we’re ready to let them go, but be glad you had 3 years of time to prepare for this. Some people don’t get that chance, they pass without getting a chance to say goodbye. Cody was lucky to have you all by his side as he crossed over to the next life. I’ve seen many pass when I worked that were alone with just me there comforting them. I did my best to help them and they always gave me a sign that they got there. So rest assured Cody is not suffering anymore and is waiting for you all.

Dear Ashley and Cody's Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy in your loss. Grandma Ruth has been keeping me up to date on Cody's progress over the years and it is easy to see that he was a determined young man to stay with you all for as long as he possibly could. I am sure that was possible from your outpouring of love to him throughout his journey.
Ashley, you are much too young to be a widow, but know that Cody will be looking down on you with Grandpa Bruce and smiling on you each and every day.
To Cody's parents, we are not supposed to bury our children, but know that Cody was a lucky man to have all of your support throughout his journey and at the time of his death.
Treasure your memories of him and hold them close to your heart where he will always remain and remember
that LOVE never dies.
RIP Cody. in your well deserved rest.
Sincerely,
Linda Fox (Lightfoot)
