Sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. As the closest in age of the first cousins we spent many summer weeks together in the 40’s and 50’s in Wallaceburg or Forest. I had a nice telephone visit with him in November discussing world affairs and baseball. A true native son of the town of Forest and the last of a real good bunch of kids. Condolences to the family, Doug and Beverly Huctwith.

I'm so sorry for your loss Helen, Carla, and others who knew Bob. While I only met Bob at Bill & Carla's wedding I enjoyed learning more about his life during his service and seeing all the great pictures and memories online.

We're so sorry to hear of Uncle Bob's passing. It was lovely to catch up with Bob at Dad's celebration, in October. I'll never forget calling Bob to inform him of Dad's passing, and I will forever hear him saying on the phone that he thought that Dad would have outlasted him. Huctwith humour, even in a tough moment.
I'll remember working for Bob and Dad one summer in the 80's, laying cement in one of barns. I learned that cement doesn't wait for anyone, and where my Norwegian impatience comes from! :)
In my memories I also have Frasier humbly showing us his new Ford Mustang, at our house in Dorchester. Frasier seemed proud of the accomplishment, but his Dad seemed even more pleased.
I also clearly remember Bob and Helen hosting a milestone anniversary celebration in their back yard for Grandma and Grandpa. Maybe their 50th? One memory from that day was the homemade ice cream maker that Bob had. I puzzled as to why we didn't own one of these miracle things.
But I'll mostly remember my Uncle as a dry, clever, very witty man, who had a great love of all things family. I'll miss him a bunch, but it makes me smile to think of Bob reunited with his siblings, parents, son and grandson.
We're missing you already, Uncle Bob.
Big hugs to Helen, Carla and Bill, and the kids.

Helen,
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your husband Bob. You must have so many fond memories of a man so kind and gentle. Having Carla as a friend meant visiting your home often and enjoying the two of you welcome myself and all of her friends so graciously. I will remember your husbands sense of humor as he would greet us at the door. I will also remember the fuss you made over one of Carla's birthday dinners, spaghetti and meatballs. It was so delightful! Bob and you made us feel extra special and it wasn't even 'our special day.'
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs to you.

We were lucky enough to spend time with Bob and Helen over years. So many memories joking around with Bob and although he always rubbed it in after beating me at pool, I totally deserved it. Helen, Carla, Bill and family: we are very sorry for your loss.
Thanks for the laughs Bob.

Bob held a special relationship with our family.
We feel so fortunate to have known him and he will be missed by all .
Many of our memories revolve around Bob & Helen's front porch at their former home ,on the corner of Maple & Beechwood .
To us it was the landmark of our neighbourhood .Even today whenever we drive by , we can easily imagine Bob & Helen both sitting there with friendly waves & gestures to stop by for a visit .
Great conversations & much laughter were always shared there.
Bob being so honest ,intelligent , sincere, kind & open minded, always took the time to listen with interest & care . He shared much advice & wisdom to all of our four sons who always enjoyed & valued their visits with him.
Bob was a great storyteller. His stories would often be about his adventures during his younger years . He also loved to discuss sports & tell us about playing on some of the local leagues in town .Often during our visits he'd have the radio by his chair to keep track of the baseball game score .We always left there knowing some history about the town of Forest .
We will always treasure memories of Bob & be filled with gratitude.
"THANK YOU BOB FOR BEING YOU & EMBRACING OUR FAMILY ! "
Dear Helen ,Carla, Bill ,Jillian & Brandon ,
Our Heartfelt Condolences to You .
Tender Hugs , Mac , Debbie & Family

I would see Uncle Bob & Aunt Helen every time my family traveled from Alberta to Ontario to visit our extended family. I fondly remember my brother Brent, our grandmother (Joan) and I catching up with them on their front porch on a warm summer's night or playing a game or two of cards. I also remember staying at their home for a night or two. Bob and Helen are lovely people and he will be fondly remembered. My condolences go to Aunt Helen, Carla & Bill and their extended family for their loss.

I worked with Bob in the lab at Dow Chemical in the late ‘60s and i had always enjoyed his friendship. Occasionally we would go to the races and each time we had a lot of laughs and fun. He always called me “Jimmy”. Bob was very intelligent and a straight shooter! Even after his departure from Dow, we would see each other somewhere in Forest and we always had good visits. My wife, Linda joins me in expressing our deepest sympathy to Helen and family during this very difficult time. Bob- Rest In Peace. We will always remember you.
Our thoughts and love go to Helen and family from the Gryner Family.

I was fortunate to get to know both Bob & Helen while growing up down the street from their house. I spent a lot of time conversing on their front porch. Bob always wanted to know what I was up to along with my brothers. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him. I regret that I didn’t visit him more often in the later years. He was a baseball enthusiast, often listing to the Jays game on his radio and had an acquired palate for Molson Export and Labatt 50 (I always teased him about his beer selection). I will always think of him when I drive by the porch on Maple Street, when I hear a ball game on the radio and every time I see either of those two beer brands. My thoughts are with Helen & family. Rest easy Bob, you’ll be missed by many.

Sending my condolences to Helen, Carla and all of Bob’s family. We were so fortunate to be Bob and Helen’s neighbours for several years and loved all the chats and laughs we shared on their front porch. Bob had a lot of great stories and a very kind, gentle manner about him. He will always be fondly remembered by all who sat on that porch with them.

Bob and Helen were neighbours for years. I spent many hours on their front porch discussing worldly topics. He was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever met. Probably learned more on that porch than at University. Thanks for the friendships rest in peace bud. You made a difference.

I will forever be grateful for the values you taught me, all of the times I was sick or stuck in rain and you’d come to my rescue to pick me up, jokes we laughed at together, selfies and silly videos we would take together, breakfast, lunch and dinner dates, birthday celebrations, annual Father’s Day Fish Fries and Christmas morning brunches. I had a best friend in you, somebody I could go to for anything, a shoulder I could cry on (many times), someone I could confide in and trust, a grandfather to me. I will love you forever and keep that “twinkle in my eye” like you always told me wipe the tears away and do. Give Ollie lots of cuddles and treats for me, and a big hug for Papa Jack and Gramma Barb.
I’ll love you forever.

If one is truly blessed, they share a lifelong friendship. Vern and I shared that with Bob and Helen. As teenagers, newly married, raising our families through good times and sad. My world just got smaller and I will miss seeing Bob when I head “home” for a visit. Thanks for all the years of friendship Bob. You were one of the good guys and will be missed. Sending love to Helen, Carla, Bill and the grandkids. LYF, Pauline
