MURRAY, Melissa With her parents at her side at home in Arkona, Melissa Kay Eileen Murray, beautiful, precious and very special daughter of her devoted, loving parents, Al and Nancy Murray, after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 43. (Feb3/77) Treasured by her Gramma Eileen Herrington and her loving Aunt Jan Prohaszka, Aunt Trisha & Uncle Tony DeRuiter and Aunt Margaret & Uncle Peter Brown, long time family friend Shirley Brooks and many wonderful cousins. Predeceased by Grandpa Wilfred Murray (1993),Grandma Kay Murray (2013) and Papa Grant Herrington( 2015.) Melissa taught us how to appreciate her loving family, enjoy a sweet kiss on the cheek, a simple swim, a day at the beach, her special doll Tiny, play dough, camp fires, roasting marshmallows, birthday cakes, pink balloons, Walt Disney World, Merry go rounds, Minnie Mouse and Disney on Ice, a visit to the zoo, fish aquariums, holidays Halloween, Easter and especially Christmas and absolutely everything “pink.” Strawberries, watermelon and preparing a spaghetti dinner, or going for submarines, Pepsi, dill pickle potato chips or MacDonald’s or Kentucky Fried chicken, Melissa loved the “puppies” Gus and Jake. Melissa loved visiting her Mom and Dad for holidays, and enjoyed her home with St. Francis Advocates, in Thedford, in her beautiful “pink” apartment. Donations in Melissa’s memory may be made to St. Francis Advocates. Melissa’s family would like to give a special thanks to everyone at St. Francis and to her kind and loving Dr. Kristina Rice, Dr. Allison Crombeen, VON nurses Danica and Amanda and the palliative care team.
