BUTLER, Sharron Sharron Butler nee Brooks April 21, 1947-March 27, 2020. 73 years. Artist, Business entrepreneur and spaghetti sauce chef, Sharron “Cookie” Butler nee Brooks in her 73rd year passed on March 27, 2020. She was born April 21, 1947 and raised in Strathroy, Ontario by loving adoptive parents. Her legacy began when she opened “Flappers Ladieswear” in Downtown Strathroy, eventually growing her “empire” to a second store in Grand Bend, Ontario. Although she was an impressive entrepreneur, her preferred place was on the lake at sunset with a glass of white wine and a smoke in her hand. Because of her love of the beach, she moved to a small cottage on the lake in Kettle Point Ontario. From there she truly began her art career, painting beautiful sunsets, oceanscapes and murals. Her wonderful artwork is displayed in many cottages in the Ipperwash area. The other true loves of her life were her son and daughter and her 5 grandchildren. The grandchildren have many fond memories of sleepovers at her cottage, where they had painting classes, fed the seagulls and ate grandma's famous french toast for breakfast; Always spoiled by their “Munga”. She was lucky enough to find her birth parents, brother and two sisters later in life. They opened a door to a whole new loving family that brought so much joy and laughter. If you were invited to her spaghetti dinners you knew what you were walking into, blues music playing, listening to her long stories and always helping her with a job or two around the house before you were fed. Her positive attitude was unwavering and she was always able to make the best out of any situation that life handed her. She was always the life of the party and loved great music, great friends and karaoke. Sharron leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jackie Butler, and her daughter and son-in-law Tracey and Kelly Dundas. Grandchildren Ian Dundas, Jessica Butler, Rachael Dundas and Sadie Dundas. Several siblings and in-laws, brother Ken and Liz Brooks, Sister Sharon and John Fletcher, In-law Marion Walpole and Sister Wendy Fulton as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by longtime devoted friend Denny McTaggart.
