Obituary of Margaret Catherine Cairns

It is with profound sadness that the family of Margaret Catherine Cairns (Farris) announce her passing on Monday September 4th at North Lambton Lodge, Forest, Ontario. Cherished wife of the late Willis Scott Cairns (2000).  Margaret was the third child of five born of the late Charlie and Katie Farris (Lamont) of Bright’s Grove.  She was predeceased by sisters Anna Rodey (Doug) and Janet Trumble  (Fred) and survived by her two brothers, Alan Farris (Heather) of Perth Ontario, and James Farris (Zona) of Texarcana, Texas.  Margaret had four children and was the best mother to Richard Scott Cairns (Arlene) of Calgary, Anne Catherine Cahill (Laurie) of Hamilton, and Brenda Lee Cairns (Randy) of Ottawa, and the late Barbara Lynn Gagnon (nee Cairns).  When tragically predeceased by her daughter Barbara (1982), she became a maternal fixture in the lives of Barbara’s two young daughters, Adrianne and Allison, and a dear mother in law to Brian Gagnon, and Heather Henderson.  She was “Awesome Grams” to Allison Stark (Chris), Adrianne Gagnon, Kristen Yanover (Scott), Sarah Cahill (Kevin), Georgia and Julia Cairns, and Conor and Tessa Brown. Beloved Great Grandmother to Macey, Maddux, Saige and Hadley.  Mom was loved by many nieces, nephews and will be missed by her neighbours and friends from her very favourite place…Invercairn.  When mother could no longer live on her own she became a resident of Brookside Retirement Home, then North Lambton Lodge in Forest.  We will be forever grateful for the care and compassion she received at these outstanding facilities.  Funeral Services will be held at Forest United Church on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 11:00 am.  Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the North Lambton Lodge Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.  Margaret was a long standing volunteer at "the Lodge" and was a huge advocate of the work of the Auxiliary.  Online condolences may be left at www.denning.ca  Funeral arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF FOREST
