Obituary of Jason Emerson Laing

With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jason Laing on Thursday July 4, 2019 at the age of 44.   Beloved, Super-Dad of Austin, Saige, Willow, Isaiah, and Zoe, friend-Dad to Ella, Amelia and Benji, former husband, best friend, and partner for life of Mandy MacDermid, and wonderful brother of Sabrina Reid.  Jason went to join his Father, Bruce Laing, who he lost only a mere few days ago.  He will also be greatly missed by his stepmother Sharon, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and most especially his best nerd buddies, Neil and Mark, who were always there when he needed a laugh.  Jason was one of those remarkable people whose smile and laughter rarely disappeared and was contagious. His relentless kindness was evident to all, often putting the needs and interests of others before his own. He celebrated sharing the joy of life (and his fondness for 80s nostalgia) with those around him and none knew this better than his children. Jason's departure has left the world dimmer, but memories of his love, thoughtfulness, and infectious energy will continue to brighten the lives of those who were blessed to know him.   Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at McKay Park in Wyoming, Ontario on Friday, July 12, 2019, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm to share stories and memories of Jason's remarkable and all to short life.  For those who wish, in memoriam donations to Autism Ontario would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.forestfuneralhome.com  Funeral arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF FOREST
