Obituary of Greg Allen

Allen, Greg March 13, 1948 - November 3, 2016 With his family by his side, Greg Allen died peacefully after a brief illness at St. Joseph's Hospice in Sarnia on November 3, 2016. Greg will be missed by his beloved wife of 46 years, Chris (nee Fraser), his daughters and their husbands Andria and Greg Appeldoorn and Megan and Graham Lamb and his adored grandchildren Matthew and Mackenzie Lamb and Delaney and Keaton Appeldoorn. Also survived by his brother Dr. Rick Allen and his in-laws Danny and Cathy Fraser, Lee Ann and George Brown, Jack and Jody Fraser and Cindy and Jeff Brown with many nieces and nephews. Greg was predeceased by his parents Harry and Marilla Allen and his in-laws Bert and Ruby Fraser and his brother-in-law Ian Fraser. Born on March 13, 1948, Harry Gregory Allen grew up on Grey Crescent in Sarnia. When he and Chris married in 1970, they settled in Forest where they raised their daughters Andi and Megan. Over the years, Greg built a well-respected career in the chemical valley planning and running shut downs. He enjoyed country music and classic cars, was a passionate Blue Jays fan, continuously shared facts and trivia on a wide range of topics, and was forever trying to get his grandchildren to root for his prized Detroit Red Wings. Above all else, Greg loved his family and deeply cherished his grandchildren, Matthew, Mackenzie, Delaney and Keaton. We are grateful for the exceptional care provided to Greg and our family by the staff and volunteers of Bluewater Health and St. Joseph's Hospice. Donations to St. Joseph's Hospice (www.stjosephshospice.ca) or Troy's Run (www.troysrun.com) or the charity of your choice are sincerely appreciated in lieu of flowers. Cheques accepted at the memorial service. Friends are invited to join Greg's family at a memorial service on Sunday, November 6th from 1pm - 3pm at the Forest Legion Branch 176.
