Obituary of Sonja Ludovina DeVries

Sonja Ludovina DeVries (nee Overduin) – 31 January 1940 – 11 September 2016 Suddenly on Sunday morning, 11 September 2016, in her 77th year, God called our Sweetheart, Mom and Grammie from life with us to her eternal home. Beloved wife, friend and life-partner of Edward, wonderful mother of Daniel, Margo, David and Dean, loving mother-in-law of Michelle Koskitalo, Frank Rizzo, Brenda Bergamin and Elizabeth, and adored grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Megan, Bethany, Isaac, Serena, Paige and Rachel, whose world she filled with joy. Sister of Daniel Overduin, Carol Vos, Truus Vant Zand, and Geraart Vos. Close cousin of Henk (2008), Jan, Ludy (Luth), Mary, Dan, Jack, Wilma (Dyson), Martin, Hans, Nick, Peter, and Liz Overduin. Sonja lived for her children and grandchildren; and loved a life of shared adventures, bird-watching, and spiritual devotion with her soul-mate of 55 years, Ed. Visitation will take place at DENNINGS OF FOREST, 9 James Street South, on Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Sarnia First Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Exmouth Street, Sarnia on Friday, 16 September at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery in Forest.
